"Book Talk"

 Rash by Pete Hautman
                Rash is about the Future of the United States of America. Or what they call it in the future, The United Safer States of America. In the future you have to wear helmates to walk, fries and football are illigeal. And People get sent to jail for the litlest things(for example being over weight) , and if you want to join the track team you have to wear a bunch of padding and run on a matted surface. In this book the main charector gets sent away to jail/ a working camp. The working camp he goes to makes pizza all day, and on top of that it is in Alaska. The only way to get out of it is by making the football team...which is illegal.                  
       This book is an extreamly good book. It makes you think of what the future may be like, and also what rules are over protective. If you are looking for an exciting book like no other, this book is definitly the book to read.
     DISCUSSION QUESTION: What rules do you think are unreasonable????

    bus rules. who cares if you use your phone? why cant we sit behind a baby seat? how come there are so many stupid rules on the bus?

    I think an unreasonable rule is that you aren't allowed to draw people smoking while in school.

    I belive that there are some rules that are stupid, but I agree with meg that the bus cell phone rule is stupid because you are putting no one including your self in any danger.
